The Merits of a Microfiber Cloth

Microfiber cloths are designed to minimize effort and maximize efficiency.

A microfiber cloth is made of extremely small polyester and polyamide strands. A good cloth is made of 80% polyester and 20% polyamide. Polyester does the cleaning, polishing and polyamide does the absorption.

Efficient

Microfiber cloths are super absorbent, as a cloth and a mop. A microfiber cloth can hold 7 times its weight in moisture. As absorption is better, floors mopped with microfiber dry faster.

Because the threads are so small, even smaller than dirt particles, a microfiber cloth lifts bacteria and dirt rather than wiping it. The wedge shaped fiber strands trap in dirt, so microfiber clothes and mops can be used for longer. They will remove grime from cracks and crevices.

Bacteria

According to Vikan, a bacterial test was taken after using a traditional mop and it showed only 30% effectiveness compared to using a microfiber mop which showed an exceptional 99%. Hence the reason why hospitals benefit from the use of microfiber cloths and mops, as it prevent cross contamination.

Gentle on surfaces

Microfiber cloths are lint free and are gentle on all surfaces. They can be used dry for dusting and polishing. The can also be used slightly wet. If using cleaning products, dilute with water. Cloths and mops can be used in most surfaces, including wood.
